How to Turn a Dumpster into an Outdoor Oasis

There are times when dumpster companies have dumpster leftover from a previous design that they manufactured in previous years. When this happens, the dumpster companies will sell the dumpsters for a fraction of the cost of what you would pay for them if you bought one at full price. If you are able to find a brand new dumpster for a very reasonable price, consider turning it into an outdoor garden oasis for times when you want to relax and get away from it all without actually having to leave your backyard. Here is how to convert the dumpster into an outdoor oasis.

Create Windows and Doors

You will need to hire someone that knows how to cut metal to cut doors and windows in the dumpster with a metal cutting torch. This can be done in a very short period of time, but requires specific tools and training to be done properly.

Paint the Exterior

Spray paint will be the easiest way to paint the dumpster. Use a few cans of spray paint that is safe for use on metal to paint the entire exterior of your dumpster. If you want it to blend in with your garden, you may want to paint it a forest green color.

Paint the Interior

Next, you want to use spray paint to paint the interior of the dumpster. Be sure to use a color that makes you feel at peace when you see it. You do not want to paint the interior a bright color that will make you feel anxious or nervous. Allow the interior and exterior paint to dry overnight before continuing.

Add a Rug

Next, you want to place a rug inside of the dumpster. The bottom of the dumpster will be made of metal that will feel very cold under your feet during the winter and very hot during the summer. Having the rug on the ground will keep your feet from being too cold or too warm when you want to kick off your shoes and really relax.

Add Furniture

Finally, you want to add furniture to the dumpster. Add a table, a chair, and even a battery powered fan. This will allow you to stay as comfortable as possible when you are in your new oasis.

Once your outdoor oasis is created, you can go back into it whenever you need to take a break from reality. The top of the dumpster can be propped open whenever you want to let natural light into the dumpster. This can be a cheap and easy way to get a little you time when you need it. Talk to a professional like Tri-State Disposal to see if they have any unused dumpsters for sale.
